Tax Free Weekend in TN
Sales Tax Holiday Date (Public Chapter 1048: Effective April 28, 2016) changes the date for the annual sales tax holiday from the weekend of the first Friday in August to the weekend of the last Friday in July of each year.
The dates for this year's sales tax holiday are July 29 through July 31, 2016. The new law did not change any other aspects of the sales tax holiday. As in prior years, consumers will not pay state or local sales tax on clothing, school and art supplies that cost $100 or less per item and computers that cost $1,500 or less.
